Yes, I know other people (including myself) who have been dismissed by a diabetes specialist. They will sometimes do this if they feel you are under good control and let your family doctor handle your situation with the understanding that you'll come back if you have comcerns or develop additional problems.

Last Friday I went to see my diabetic doc in St. Louis MO at Barnes hosp. He told me I didn't need to come back anymore unless I needed something. Has anyone ever heard of this?
