Dear Dar,

DKA stands for Diabetic Keto Acidosis.  Which means
her blood sugar was extremely high, like above 600.  Hopefully your friend 
is doing more blood tests so, your friend can catch the blood sugar spike in 
time to contact your friend's medical team.  Good luck to your friend!
