Tamera:
As there is no way to download firmware to existing Prodigy meters, the
current crop does *not* have an error message for not enough blood on the
strip. I had a conversation with Prodigy engineers some two years ago in
which I suggested that such a system would be a good idea and new Prodigy
Voice meters may have this but if so, I am not aware of it. You'd have to
obtain a new meter if this feature has been added and you want it.
The Solo V2 *does* have the error message (it has two electrodes on the
strip to accomplish this) but the current model has drawbacks which IMO are
show-stoppers, to wit, no "say display" key and no reading of times of bg
readings when reviewing them in memory even though they're shown on the LCD
display. BioSense was supposed to have a new meter with this and other
problems corrected available last August but obviously this did not happen
and it is my understanding that the new version of the Solo won't be
available until later this year (whatever that means).

Kelly,
I may have missed this answer as often if the subject line appears to be
non related to information I am curious about, I don't read them.. but
recently in the AFB newsletter they reported on Audible glucose meters and
noted the Prodigy and the Solo V as the only ones available with the error
message, not enough blood.
Did they finally add this to current prodigy meters being sold? Any other
updates released in current models?
Thanks, Tamera
