I agree. I mean, non-diabetics bodies rely on insulin, so it makes sense
that if insulin is a treatment option, it is worth considering. And so
many people think taking injections, or using a pump, is an
inconvenience, but it really doesn't take much time or effort. I've been
on insulin for 27 years, since I was four, and before my pump, I took
injections, and it was never a huge inconvenience to my life-- diabetes
in general can be, but insulin injections themselves never were a huge
thing for me.

IMO adjusting metformin won't help bg spikes. They usually come from
something you ate, stress or for some reason not immediately
discernible. Many people exercise to bring bg down.
Insulin is your friend. Everyone I know wonders why they didn't start
sooner.
