[Diabetes-talk] Spike.

Thanks. For those who have been pregnant, I could really use some advice
and suggestions. I know the pregnancy is going to create some bumps in
the road and glucose control has to be monitored meticulously because
things change rapidly, but I'm experiencing problems with stability.
I'm testing 12 to 15 times a day including before meals and two hours
after meals. I'm eating very healthy and sticking to meal times around
the same time each day. I exercise at least four times a week (when
nausea permits, ug) for at least an hour. I send BG records to my endo
at least once a week and making adjustments as necessary.
So I feel like I'm following the regimine established by my endo and
working to do everything by the book, and yet my sugars keep
fluctuating.
I'm running between 140 to 180 most days, which is not the target goal.
I'm extremely sensitive to insulin, so when we make changes, it has to
be conservative otherwise I drop. We can't seem to find a balance. II'm
glad I'm not above 200, and staying pretty consistent in that mid-100
range, but I want to achieve the target goals of 80 to 120.
So, I would appreciate stories from those who have been pregnant and
what you did. You can contact me off-list if you wish. Baby is doing
really good, but I want to do what is best for my child, and striving to
maintain the best possible management of my diabetes is a part of that.
Sincerely,
Bridgit Kuenning-Pollpeter
