Everything you describe is exactly what the Prodigy meter does, and the
Prodigy is fully accessible.

Some companies are marketing meters that speak the glucose number out
when testing, but the rest of the meter is not accessible. These meters
are intended for older diabetics whose sight isn't legally blind but
just not as clear as happens with most people as they age.

The Prodigy meters do everything you state though, as do another brand
of meters, but I always forget the name.

My experience is that your doctor has to submit paper work to insurance
in order to receive accessible meters like the Prodigy. Insurance,
especially Medicare and Medicaid, require proof of a visual impairment
in order to cover accessible meters.

Hello everyone,

A friend of mine was telling me that there is a meter out there, that is

fully talking. It can remind you when to test somehow, and it can keep
track 
of certain times, or all times you test. I can't remember this for sure.

Also, you can't easily waste strips, because it tells you if there is
not 
enough blood, or possibly even too much blood on them.

However, I can't remember the name of this meter. Does anyone have any
ideas 
as to what I could be talking about?
Does anyone have this meter? If so, what do you think of it?

My friend tried to get this meter for her husband.
However, Medicare wouldn't cover it for some reason.
Does anyone here have this meter, who has Medicare? If so, how did you
get 
them to cover it?
I'm curious about this, because I'd really like to have it. Right now I
am 
using the Prodigy Voice. While I like it alright, I'd like something
better.
