[Diabetes-talk] Talking Glucose meter question

One more thought: *every* meter occasionally gives bum readings. Your best
protection is to use a bit of common sense when interpreting readings.
There's no substitute for the human brain.

As I said in a previous post, the Solo V2 is the meter your friend is
thinking about. And it does have before and after meal modes. But you have
to remember to set this before you test -- it's not an after-the-fact thing.
And all you need do using the Prodigy is to write the readings down together
with when you took them (before breakfast, as you go to bed, etc.) in a
written log -- which you should be doing anyway unless your diabetes is
*very* stable and nothing changes much.

Subject: [Diabetes-talk] Talking Glucose meter question

Hello everyone,

A friend of mine was telling me that there is a meter out there, that is
fully talking. It can remind you when to test somehow, and it can keep track

of certain times, or all times you test. I can't remember this for sure.
Also, you can't easily waste strips, because it tells you if there is not
enough blood, or possibly even too much blood on them.

However, I can't remember the name of this meter. Does anyone have any ideas

as to what I could be talking about?
Does anyone have this meter? If so, what do you think of it?

My friend tried to get this meter for her husband.
However, Medicare wouldn't cover it for some reason.
Does anyone here have this meter, who has Medicare? If so, how did you get
them to cover it?
I'm curious about this, because I'd really like to have it. Right now I am
using the Prodigy Voice. While I like it alright, I'd like something better.

Thank you so much!

Terri
