My sweety, also a diabetic, has occasional stomach trouble and she swears by
ginger.

I thought it was the ginger that helped nausea.

Hi Bridgit,

Well, I'm not sure exactly, but what I learned was that salt and sugar are
the elements in the foods that actually control nausea. One part of it is
putting something--anything--in your stomach that won't come back right
away. But sugar and salt both help hold water in the body, so it may have
to do with hydration, too. I suspect the effect from the diet gingerale is
an effect of the carbonation. And if there's some placebo effect--if it

works--so what? Keep doing it!

Sandi
