[Diabetes-talk] Another Hawkeye here

When were you here, Bridgit? I'd like to think things are better in Des
Moines, but I'm not impressed with much of the diet advice I hear in this
area.

I only lived in Iowa for a short time, and I was in Des Moines, which I
do not recommend for diabetes care, wink. I traveled every three months
back to Omaha I thought the care was so bad, and I saw a handful of
endos in the two years I lived there.

That being said, I've heard Iowa City has fantastic endos since the Iowa
Med Center is in Iowa City. My husband is from Iowa and went to school
at IU, and he isn't diabetic, but the docs he saw while in Iowa City
were pretty good. Hope this helps, smile.

Okay, with all of the Iowans or former Iowans on this list, one
question. From time to time, my hubby talks about going back to Iowa
when he retires this summer. Being a California girl myself, I keep
suggesting that he might want to visit during the winter before making
the final decision. <grin> But I was wondering if anyone here knows how
diabetes care is these days in Iowa City? Thanks. Veronica
