[Diabetes-talk] Prodigy & Its Memory?

These meters use recycled inexpensive memory which has a mean time
before failure at a maximum of five years. They're like the sharp
talking clocks in that respect. You might pull the battery out of the
meter and perhaps put a new battery in and test the meter over a couple
days, but memory wears out like batteries.
Now, meters could get better by ditching silicone memory and replacing
silicone memory with amorphous memory for a couple reasons. One is it
lasts much longer than silicone and costs much less to make. If anyone
is interested in reading about amorphous memory look up an article
called "the amorphous man" and read that article.
