[Diabetes-talk] App for iPhone and Glumonitor

        Hello everyone,
I had a chance to do a blood sugar test using the iBGStar meter last summer
in an apple store. Voiceover does not read the meter prompts but I found the
result easily enough on the screen. I also reviewed the iBGStar app on
applevis.com last summer, but the app has changed so much since then. My
iPhone is the 4S model. For example, I cannot find the glucose level number
I try to enter in the latest version. Fortunately, the meter's time and date
are set by the iPhone, and the app can hold records in memory. iBGStar has
entries for insulin and carbs, but they are not well suited for someone
using an insulin pump. For that matter, it seems that one would need to
create a separate entry if taking two types of insulin simultaneously, which
is a pain. It is also extremely difficult to contact the app developer
directly (the iBGStar app does not list an email). Contacting customer
service was not at all helpful. I was greatly excited at the prospect of
having a glucometer to use with my phone, but as with the insulin pump
situation, my hope is deferred and we are all stuck patiently waiting.

Good afternoon again,

What model iPhone and iOS are you running. I ask because Voice Over features
very slightly but significantly between iOS version in particular. I might
be able to offer some assistance. I found that their support is not very
knowledgable on Voice Over. I can’t claim to be an expert; however, I did
spend about 14 hours of one-on-one with a guy in the Lincoln Park (Chicago,
IL) Store that was extremely knowledgeable.
