[Diabetes-talk] Pocket Pal

You folks know that it is possible to label buttons yourself. It, of
course, would require sighted help, and you'd probably need to do it every
time the app gets updated, but still something to consider.

the principal problem with the app is unlabeled buttons. However, when one
brings up the documentation, voiceOver can't see it -- to a VO user, it just
looks like a blank screen. So the app developers are going to have to learn
a bit about the VO API.

That is truly awesome! That's right--the discussion was that lots of the
buttons weren't labeled, wasn't it? So getting in touch with them is a good
idea.

Sandi:

I think you are correct: the Verio Sync just now is available. The app isn't
accessible; both Alan and I wrote to the company about it and I received a
phone call saying that they might consider making the app VoiceOver
compatible.

Hi Tamara,

With J & J you're not talking about Pocket Pal. You're talking about the
OneTouch VerioSync, as Alan's e-mail stated. The Pocket Pal is a
not-yet-available unit, made by someone else, that is due to be released
soon, but only in Europe. I think the OneTouch VerioSync, made by Johnson
and Johnson, is available now, but I'd have to look at back e-mails to be
sure.

Please read carefully. You are talking about two different things.

Sandi

OK, I actually have a client who works for J&J, wonder if I can get any
info from her... So is this meter and software available yet? Seems it was
just released or soon to be.
I know if a few of us at least get involved and report to J&J or whomever,
as w/pocket pal.. they would at least know more than 1 of us has interest in
their product?

Tamera, Mike and Sandi have already commented that the device you mentioned
is not the OneTouch bluetooth meter I posted about the other day. That was
the OneTouch VerioSync manufactured by Johnson & Johnson.

I read in January Diabetes Forecast of the Pocket Pal glucose monitoring
device made by lifestyles innovations by Dario.

It sounds like a small device that holds all testing supplies, and you
remove a piece that goes into the ear jack of your IPhone for testing and
you can manage all sorts of things related to your control, Glucose
reading, logs etc.

I don't' think this was the device recently referred to on here? I thought
it was something from one touch?

But could be one touch is made by Dario?

Anyway, I tried to submit an inquiry on its usefulness w/VO, but does anyone
know about this glucose monitoring system?

Tamera
