Diabetes in cats is fairly common. IMO if one thinks about it, this might
not be surprising in that in the wild, cats don't get many carbs.

Hello Dave, we have a cat as well who is diabetic, she is 14 years old. We
had to put her on one unit, and feed her low carb canned food. She no longer
takes insulin.
