I’ve been reading Braille since I lost my sight some 30 plus years ago. I test a lot and my fingers are still in pretty good shape so far as Braille reading goes. I have been diabetic (type 1) since age five, so the little bit of problems I have now, I attribute more to the effects of long-term diabetes and not so much the finger sticking. It is very important to test and to try your best to keep your BG numbers in a reasonable range. Given its not easy, but all you can do is your best. Just don’t not test because you’re worried about Braille.

IMO I think letting BG numbers run amuck will give you more sensativity problems in your fingers than will finger sticking.

For those who read Braille, with so many pricks, how does that affect your reading ability?

I'm proficient in it, and don't want to not be able to read it, as I've been reading it since I was 3.
