Welcome to the list.
To some extent, what snacks are the healthiest depends upon the individual.
But you certainly won't go too far wrong eating a handful or two of almonds,
cashoos or peanuts. Some people like a bit of yogurt or string or other
cheese. You could also eat one of those no-sugar-added applesauces that come
in a small container or even an apple or an orange although the latter havde
slightly more carbohydrate.
Incidentally, I recommend Gretchen Becker's book "the first Year -- Type II
Diabetes; A guide for the Newly Diagnosed". It's DB64186 on BARD, I believe.

I was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I'm taking oral
medications. It has been a work in progress as far as adjusting my diet. I
was curious to hear different ideas of what the group has as far as healthy
snack alternatives.
