A year ago, I switched to the Animas Ping after having a Cosmo for almost 10 years, and while there's not a beep everytime you press a button, the button has a definite push-in when you press it, so you are sure it's selecting what you want. The bolus button does beep every time you press it though. Personally, I've not had problems with this new pump, and beyond the beeps, it's compareable to the Cosmo. I recommend it especially for Cosmo users.
But you're right, we should have the same access to diabetic technology as everyone else.

Hi everyone!
Well, before we get all excited about the future of the T-Slim, I went and downloaded the simulator app. I couldn't make it do anything as most of the things on the screen are images and VoiceOver won't respond to them as links. So I couldn't even get to the main pump screen. The only thing that worked was the "agree" button which said that this was a simulator, not to be used to make medical decisions. I will be seeing a local T-slim rep next week at a local conference but I sadly don't think this means a lot just because another inaccessible screen landed on an iPhone.
It's a shame because this is the only current pump that has beeps for each key press, or in this case of course, screen touch. My current pump is starting to show signs of unhappy buttons and frankly, right now I'm trying really hard not to let myself get into a major technology funk about it. On some days, I do succeed.
At a low point a couple of weeks ago I just wanted to mount a protest saying blind lives matter! Most of the time as I work myself out of those low points I do manage to get moving and make things happen again and I hope that's true this time. <grin> But sometimes I give myself permission to stop and really wish it weren't so ridiculous and that we shouldn't have to fight so hard to try and stay alive and healthy like everyone else around us. I hope you understand what I mean here, not looking for pity of course, not here. <grin> But for me, sometimes if I let myself acknowledge the bummer parts, then I can pick myself up and move on in a good frame of mind. And truthfully, if my Cozmo goes, no matter which pump I choose, I'll be giving up a lot. And I find giving up stuff is harder than never having it in the first place. I did find a second hand pump from someone but it turned out to be, well, second hand! So onward! Maybe I'll get some direction after next week. <grin> Thanks so much for the ear.

Email Template - Courtesy Spear MarketingI got this today and thought some of you might be interested in it. It doesn’t necessarily mean its accessible to us, nor that the pump can be used through the simulator, but I think it has hopeful indications .
