[Diabetes-talk] Testing 8 Times a Day?

Oatmeal has carbs, even just regular cooked oatmeal. But no-bake cookies
have a lot of carbs because they have sugar. It's a baked item.
A half cup of cooked oatmeal has about 25 to 30 grams of carbs. This is over
the 15 grams of carbs in a single carb choice, so when eating oatmeal with
no fruit or sweetener, it would considered 1-1/2 to 2 carb choices, if
sticking with a 1/2 cup, which is a serving size. If eating more, the carbs
go up. So if eating a full cup of cooked oatmeal, you double the carbs.
A Google search shows no-baked cookies have 16 grams of carbs, making this
one carb choice. But it depends on how big the cookie is made. Size will
affect how many carbs are in it. In addition to oatmeal, no-baked cookies
also have sugar and peanut butter, which peanut butter is usually high in
sugar and carbs.

For the most part I still am a type two diabetic.
I just do the wow can't think of the name of the pin twice a day.
I thought with the oatmeal it would bring the sugar down.
In the winter months we eat oat meal all of the time for a hot cerial.
My sugars don't go up.
That was how I got mixed up.
