[Diabetes-talk] Testing 8 Times a Day?

As of now, I don't believe Medicare will cover CGMs for any reason.

My endo told me that the Dexcum recently was the only CGM FDA approved for
being as accurate as glucometers, making it the number one CGM right now. I
think that's why so many people are going with Dexcum.

What do we need to do to qualify  for a CGM as far as medicare goes.  I feel
if I had more Continuous Glucose monitoring then the doctor would have more
information to adjust insulin.  Ithe  feel without the info the docs are
just guessing, too.

My sister-in-law just last week changed and went up to Yale to see an
endocrinologist.  The doctor sent her out for CGM for 5 days.  They did use
a Dextrum CGM.  So is this what doctors are doing now?  At least if that is
the case the docs are getting the information they need.  Maybe medicare
would pay for the testing.

Only type ones use insulin pumps. I've never heard of a type two, even an
insulin dependent one, using a pump, though I suppose they could. But if
type one, you qualify for a pump, no matter your A1-C.

If the a one c is higher as a type one is that what you are saying!
