[Diabetes-talk] how to keep medication from spilling while traveling, and keeping all supplies together

When traveling long-distance, I always leave my meds in their original
bottles. I used to put some bottles in a zip lock bag and others in another
bag, let's say, for example, night meds in one bag and morning meds in
another. But now that I have my Scrip Talk, it saves a lot of headaches and
I can put everything together in one zip lock bag.

I hope you can forgive me for raining on your parade. But, my best
advice to you is, "leave the pill box at home." When my husband and I
traveled abroad for the adoptions of our children, we were advised by
both the adoption agency and the airlines in making our flight
reservations to leave all medications in their prescription bottles
and carry them that way because the bottles are locked shut and,
because in checking your bags, the airlines' staff can rest assured
there's a good chance that if you're carrying your meds in their
designated prescription bottles that the pills are the properly
prescribed meds?

On the other hand, if you insist on carrying those pill box things, my
suggestion is to enclose them in a gallon ziplock bag and slide that
into your bag. They should be somewhat safer anyway.

Have a great day!!
