[Diabetes-talk] accessible apt for CGM

Hi Joyce,

I forgot to put in my last email is that each company's products work only
with their own devices that their company manufactures.
It is the same theory that you cannot use Chevrolet products in side a
Volkswagen car.

Hi Joyce,
The DexCom 5 Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) is made by DexCom. The
Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) by Medtronic's works only with their
products.

Warmly, Joy

I thought the CGM that comes with Medtronics is a separet unit. So does
this one work with the Metronics pump that is a 5g?

We are waiting to see if I get a refusal or denial from my
insurance/medicare.

Are there folks here that have gotten approval for these two things from
their insurance/medicare? I have been told they won't cover the CGM.

No, the pumps with CGMs are not accessible even with apps. This Dexcum CGM
is currently the only one available with an accessible app. If you use a
pump, you would use both the Dexcum CGM and your respective pump, but they
would not be one-in-the-same device.

Could you please post the name of the meter that has the accessible apt
again? Is this the CGM that you can get with the Medtronic insulin pump
that has the sensories and that shuts off for up to 2 hours if your blood
sugars go too low?

Thanks, Joyce
