Subject: [Diabetes-talk] What medications are out there, for people with
type two diabetes?
Hello everybody,
I wanted to ask, what medications, that are in a pill form, are available
with people who have time to diabetes?
I am taking Matt Foreman currently. I take 1000 mg in the morning, and 1000
mg at night. This is the extended release form. We discovered recently, by
taking me off the Met Forman for a week, that this has been what has caused
the caring up of my stomach.
I was extremely constipated, all of the time,. Even though my stomach doctor
put me on a syrup to take twice a day, a medication, and softener. Really
none of it made a difference. If I was not constipated or I would barely use
the bathroom, I would have serious bouts of diarrhea. It was awful! My
stomach doctor actually thought I had Gastro paresis. But my diabetic doctor
does not believe this. He has seen the report. I have been on net Foreman
for quite a while now. I cannot remember how many years. I have always had
trouble with either diarrhea, or painful, severe constipation. I never
thought it was the Met Forman. But now that I am only taking one pill, I
believe that it is the culprit. For the last few days, my stomach is not
hurt, I have less gas, and my bowels have worked better than they ever have
in the last three or so years. I don't want to stay on just one pill of the
Met Forman. It doesn't give me enough blood sugar control. Plus, I just
don't want the medication in general, if it's going to have these sorts of a
fix.
I also take,Victoza in the morning, I have been for about a year or two now.
This works quite well for me. At first I took it at night. But I found out
by accident when I was in the hospital one week, that it works better for me
in the morning. But it can't do all the work by itself. I go to see my
doctor again, this coming Tuesday, even though I was in there about three
weeks ago. I want to discuss what other medications we can try. I'm not on
insulin. I am grateful for this. So do you all have any ideas as to what
might help me? Or as to what types of options I may have?
My boyfriend takes a medication, but I don't know how to spell it. He only
has to take it once a day. I just want something that will treat my stomach
well, that won't hopefully make me gain weight, and there will most
importantly help control my blood sugar. Any ideas, or dots, it would be
very much appreciated.
Thank you so much!
Terri
