[Diabetes-talk] Test Strips Used with Prodigy Voice Meter?

Hi, Alan,

Yes, that's exactly what happened to me almost every time I spoke with them.
I don't approve of that kind of pushy selling and I certainly don't approve
of companies that force their customer service employees to do it. I've
worked in that kind of atmosphere and it truly, truly sucks. My advice is
get away from them, I can give you the number for Benson's should you want
it in the future, a much more reasonable company to work with.

Mark,

Thanks and I'm not sure if Arriva is going to work for me either. Speaking
of knee braces, the rep I spoke with today tried to sell me one of those and
then pitched a back brace when I said I wasn't interested. I'm not getting a
good feeling about them.

Alan

The auto code strips do indeed work with the Prodigy Voice. Just so you
know, I canceled my account with Ariva for several reasons. First of all,
when it was time for me to order supplies, they would call me about twice a
day and leave messages, which I found annoying and secondly, they were
indeed much too strong on selling their products that Medicare would pay
for, whether or not you needed that product. For example, almost every time
I talked with them, they tried hard to get me to purchase a knee brace, no
matter how many times I told customer service that I did not need that
brace. I don't approve of that kind of hard selling. I get my supplies
from Benson's medical supplies, which also works with insurance and
Medicare.

Hi Alan,

Yes, the Autocode strips work with the Prodigy Voice. No argument here with
your analysis of things.

Medicare has again changed the rules for getting diabetic test strips and
I'm looking for a provider. This seems like a good time to switch to the
Prodigy Voice meter as my vision continues to deteriorate.

I've contacted Arriva out of Florida and I've set up an initial order for
the Prodigy Autocode meter test strips. I know the Autocode meter is
different from the Prodigy Voice but since the strips will be the main cost
over time, I'm trying to determine whether these two meters use the same
test strips. If the Prodigy Autocode strips won't work in the Prodigy Voice
meter, I need to find this out as quickly as possible and cancel my order
with Arriva.

I know I probably should have gotten this information from the Arriva
enrollment person I spoke with but my experience after talking with several
of these Medicare-approved suppliers is that they are strong on trying to
sell you stuff that the government is paying for and weak on listening.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer in clarifying whether the
Prodigy Voice and Autocode use the same test strips.
