Hello everybody,
How about a month ago I went to the doctor regarding my diabetes. If you all might remember, he took me off of the Met Forman, because it was tearing up my stomach pretty badly. Even though I had been taking it for a number of years.
He left me on myVictoza. But it alone was not doing the job. Plus, I don't eat very well. This is something I know that I need to change. I'm working on it, but it sure is a slow process. Anyway, when I went in there, they took my A-1 C. When I had been in there over four months ago now, it was 6.8. It went up pretty high, and I was very unhappy. This time it was, 8.1. I certainly want to get that back down.
So when I was in there last, he decided to put me on a new type of insulin. I was mad about this at first, and I told him so. He told me I would love it, and that it was like ice cream for my body. If only you knew what he was saying! LOL! I absolutely love ice cream!
He put me on,Trevino.
Is anyone familiar with this insulin? How does it work for you? If anyone takes his insulin that is on Medicare, and has a part D drug coverage plan, did you have any problems getting it approved?
I'm sorry, that was supposed to be part d. They gave me samples. So that is what I have been using for now. But I actually go back to see him tomorrow.
I have to admit, this insulin is working quite well for me. Before I started taking it, my blood sugars would be over 200, and my average blood sugar was 184. I've had it in the 200s just once, since I started taking the insulin. I am still on the Victoza once in the morning. I take the insulin then as well.
I think I had some side effects at first. My stomach bothered me a lot! I actually went to the ER one night about it, because I was so nauseated! There are times I feel like I can't eat much. But I think this will get better over time
Anyway, I would love to hear from others who take this insulin. I would like to know your experiences with it, and how it helps you, or does not help you. I would also like to know how you were able to get it paid for, or if you ran into any problems.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Terri
