[Diabetes-talk] Gluten Free

It's not necessary to eat gluten-free unless you have celiac disease.
Gluten-free foods are all the rage now, and eaten by many people who, for
some reason, need to try anything new. For the people who truly need them,
they are wonderful, because until recently, gluten-free foods were like
cardboard--very unappealing. Now there are some great ones.

But if you don't have celiac disease, you don't need them, and they will not
contribute to lowering carbs or losing weight, or any of the other things
one might hope for.

I have a question, and haven't seen anything either way on this. Do
"gluten-free" items have an impact on carbs, etc. Are they better, worse, or
the same as regular products in terms of Type 2 diabetes?

Thanks!

Dave
