You can get the prodigy count-a-dose. Go to
http://www.prodigymeter.com
and you can read more about it!I think the NFB independence market sells it, although I'm not sure about this.

Subject: [Diabetes-Talk] Drawing Up Insulin With Syringe?
Hi All,
Recently I had an issue with my insulin pump and I needed to inject insulin with a syringe. I no longer have syringes in the house, but did have some insulin pens around so used them for the emergency.
It’s dawned on me that I should really have syringes around for such emergencies. I thought I had an old count-a-dose around but cannot locate it. Any pointers to where I can locate the device or something similar. It is not cost-effective to keep pens around because more than likely they will wind up being thrown away for expiring before I ever get to use them. I do need to have a back-up system around and the best way will be syringes with a vial of insulin that I always have in the house and know it is fresh because that’s what gets used in the pump.
Thanks for any pointers or suggestions.
Eileen
