By Bernadette Jacobs request, I will be a guest speaker at this year’s NFB DAN Convention in Orlando, FL.

No home meter has a great accuracy. Prodigy is actually one of the better even among non-talking meters. Nonetheless, striving for better technology is always a good thing. My BG's reflect my A1-C fairly well, so I'm content with the Prodigy for now. But I still think blind diabetics should have options just like our sighted peers.

I love my Prodigy, but sometimes I worry about its accuracy. I have sometimes at night seen a variability of 40 points in sugar numbers over a five minute period. Anyway, for now, even given that, it is still the best on the market.

     I haven't, but it sounds intriguing.  My only concern is that it probably is not a talking device and plugging the adapter in to the iPhone's headphone jack will take away the voice for us.  So, you won't have immediate access to the blood sugar until you download the data  and then  remove the cord.
