Even though the Animas pump is waterproof, I'm like Bridget in that I leave
mine off.  I don't even shower with mine.  As for your Dexcom, the only
issue will be it going out of range on you.  I wouldn't take the receiver
anywhere near the pool, even if it is a private pool.  Too risky for it to
be accidentally knocked in the water or even splashed.

One thing that I like to do to keep my bearings in a large open space like a
pool or when shoveling our driveway is to have some kind of sound cue that
lets you know which direction you are facing.  Nothing worse than being lost
in space and not know which way to go.  If your pool has lane dividers, that
will help you keep from being too lost in it.

Hello to those who have CGM and pump devices, I was just wondering how do
you go about it  when wanting to  take  a swim in the pool. I have not swam
in years and will be moving into a nnew house which has an Olympic size pool
in the backyard . My fears are going to be getting in the  pool and swimming
for the first time.  Who has done this and how to approach this. I know I
will be lucky at first but I need to calm those nervous fears as well. There
will be always some one sighted in the family in the ppool at all times with
me   as well initially  till I get used to my new surroundings .   Just
wondering are there  tricks  that people who are blind or low vision use
when swimming in a pool like the situation that I will be in for the first
time nnot swimming for years an wanting to do so this summer. We will be
moving into the new house this upcoming summer.
