[Diabetes-Talk] Question About Prodigey Meter?

The screen faces to the top. You slide strips in at the top.

Beginning from left to right, the largest button is repeat. So if you need to read out something again, you press this button. The middle button is set, as you figured out. The button on the right is how you retrieve readings. And of course, the up and down arrow are next to the screen.

Hi Jamie,

I checked the box and there was not a CD included. I got the meter through US Med so perhaps it makes a difference if the meter is purchased through a company that takes insurance VS the Independence Market or just an out-right out-of-pocket purchase.

Any way, I looked through my files and managed to find a very old copy of the instruction manual from the Prodigey I had back ten years ago. While it did not described the key layout it gave enough information from the instructions to get the time/date set and batteries inserted. Other than the up/down arrows and set button I’m not sure what the other buttons are. I guess I’ll learn as I use it.

Thanks.
Eileen

Eileen,

My Prodigy Voice is many years old, so I'm not sure if the layout has changed. I did a Google search for Prodigy Voice manual, and there are numerous sites that have a downloadable pdf of the manual. Most Prodigys are held with the screen at the top, and the place where the strip is inserted is down. I always turn my meter to put the blood on the strip, but the screen is at the top to understand the key layout. I'm sure that others who use the Prodigy will be sending you answers to help you out, but I just wanted you to know that you can find the manual online for your future reference. If you bought a Prodigy Voice, didn't it come with a CD with instructions?

Jamie

Subject: [Diabetes-Talk] Question About Prodigey Meter?

Hello All,

I got my shipment of new testing supplies today with the Prodigey meter. Its been a very long time since I last used one. Does anyone have a layout of the keys on the meter and how to orient it to find the various buttons. I also need instructions on setting date/time.

If anyone has the instructions that clearly describe the layout and set up I’d greatly appreciate if you would send them to me?

Thanks much in advance.

Eileen
