Gary, this will not undercut the Dexcom. Yes, things like the FreeStyle
Libre are cheaper but they do not have all of the features either. For
instance, they do not constantly monitor your level and alert you if you're
going low or high. You have to touch the receiver to the sensor to download
readings. This makes it a commonly prescribed tool for those with Type 2 who
have an interest in learning what their blood sugar levels do during the
day, but will not meet the needs of most people who are insulin dependent,
trying to avoid extreme highs or lows.
So, sometimes you get what you pay for. Don't worry.
And it's Dexcom that is pairing with all of the various insulin pumps out
there. They're not going anywhere.

Wwas reading an article about abbot freestyle libre CGm and that almost all
pharmacies in the US will carry them. The cost will undercut the dexcom cgm
units.the pricing that I have been able to google will be about $150 for
the unit an then $150 for senssors a month.if this will be the cost then how
will an insurance company justify giving the user the Dexcom when they can
tell them to use the abbot product which wwill cost us les money in the
long run.i wonder if this is not concerning to anyone who has the Dexcom cgm
and is getting their supplies covered through insurance an what will hhappen
in the long run with thththese CGm products.
