[Diabetes-Talk] Need help with Dexcom right away

I did all that last night, and it never worked. It brought up the box to put
in my blood sugar, but when I tapped on save, it kept bringing me back to
the screen asking me to in put my blood sugars. And I kept getting alerts
about it. It never left that screen, and I tried every button, labeled or
otherwise. I called support around 9 p.m. and got a message about how it was
closed and hours were between such and such a time. That's when I just
texted my nurse educator. She Faced Timed me to visually check the app, but
it still didn't work. I restarted my phone a couple of times with no luck.
Finally, this morning, when I was much lower, it worked. Now it's showing my
glucose levels and if I'm lowering/raising or steady, etc. It never showed
any of this last night.

The receiver wasn't working to in put the numbers either, so I just turned
it off, and my nurse doesn't think I need it anyway because I can't see it
myself. I had my dad come over to try to make the receiver work, because it
kept beeping at me to in put my numbers, but every time we did, it said it
was still in 2 hour set-up mode, which it wasn't. I couldn't handle 2
devices beeping at me all night, so I shut it down, grin.

The app seems to be working fine without the receiver.

I also trained on the Medtronic 530G yesterday too, so using 2 new devices,
although, the pump isn't really difficult at all. Very comparable to the
Animas, so not much of a learning curve in my opinion. Did really well in
training, and will see how things go when I do my first reservoir change on
my own in a few days. Fingers crossed, grin.

Thanks.

Bridgit

I have never entered any numbers on the receiver and nobody ever issued me
an invite on clarity. I just created an account with Dexcom, which was
necessary for the regular app, entered my info and that was that.
Also, there's no such thing as not being able to enter a high number. I've
entered numbers higher than that, for sure. It's just that above 400, the
display just says high. But you can enter them for sure.
And tech support is opened 24/7 so there's never a too late for calling tech
support. I actually find some of the best staff seems to be on in the middle
of the night.
If you haven't already solved this yet, I'd close the app in the app
switcher and try coming back in again and see if that fixes the problem.
When you enter the first number, you find save. Hey, I think I know what's
happening. I wonder if you're being bitten by the VoiceOver bug here. Try
this! Enter your first number. Then look at the top of the phone for the
save button and double tap it. Then you are asked to confirm the number.
However, with VoiceOver, you may see two instances of number pads because
one of them is a ghost of the first screen. So if you're confirming by
tapping at the bottom of the phone, check closer to the top and you might
find the real one. Since I haven't used the G5 for a few months, I sure hope
I don't have those reversed. Then the second save should actually take. Give
that a snoop and let us know what happens.

Don't be too obsessed! It will let you know when you are below 75 and above
your level you chose for your high. I have my high set at 180, since the
default 240 is just too high for me.

Okay, thanks. My nurse ed thought I had to do something first on Clarity,
but it automatically logs me in, and yes, I think she needs to send me an
invite.

I'm obsessively checking my glucose levels now LOL!

Bridget,

I forgot about it not taking a blood sugar that high. As for the
Clarity, I installed it on my phone and laptop. I had the educator send me
an invite, which took care of connecting them with me.

Jamie,

Everytime I tried to enter the 2 glucose numbers, nothing happened. It just
kept going back to the screen to enter them. It was too late to contact
support (I tried) but I contacted my nurse educator, and she thought it was
because my blood sugars were too high at the time. For some reason, I went
up really high last night. Barely ate anything all day, but I was 413. So,
once I came back down to normal ranges, it worked. Now the app seems to be
working fine.

Now, I'm having problems with the Clarity app so I can share things with my
doc and staff.

I am not sure where are you are in setting up the app. You only need to
enter two blood sugars after the two hour warm up when you insert a new
sensor. Is that where you are? You should be able to tap on enter first
blood sugar. And if I recall, you then have to hit OK and then tap on enter
first blood sugar again. Have you tried calling the Dexcom support?
