[Diabetes-Talk] Dexcom problem

Just to be clear, Dexcom and Libre are not connected to wifi, not at all other than sending the data to its server. They use Bluetooth to talk between the transmitter and either the receiver or your app. You have to be within about 20 feet of your phone to keep blue tooth happy. Sometimes it arfs if there is more than one blue tooth device
 Connected. Sometimes it arfs because of the phase of the moon or something. <grin> 
And whichever CGM we use, we have to learn to make peace with our appropriate customer service or tech support. But I never got terribly excited about a 14-day sensor because I haven't seen anyone make tape that lasts that long. Dexcom tells you that they are FDA certified to be placed on the abdomen. I've heard the arm for Libre. Everyone breaks those rules, but frankly, tape is tape and those properties don't change much in relation to where the sensor is placed. Sometimes you can find an area that doesn't get moved as much but sometimes it just either behaves or comes undone for, ummm, that phase of the moon reason. <grin> 
It can be a challenge adapting our lives to fit around managing all this fancy technology, that's for sure.

Relax gang.  Firstly,

Thou shalt nerver, ever use a hair dryer on your transmitter/sensor!!!  Bad, bad idea!!!

Truth is, one can shower using your Dexcom, whatever the model number.  It will air-dry under your clothing just fine.  Sometimes, it will go off-kilter depending upon your wifi signal.  Unfortunately, all these devices are wifi dependent, which means, that if you are outside of your wifi signal, you may not be able to get readings only for a short time until either you hook back up to your wifi, or if wherever you are, they can give you a passcode,  I have the G6 and this happens ot me fairly often.  Basically, sometimes, this will do thaat in your own home.  Best thing to do is just wait it out.  It will fix itself. Not to worry.  Often times it will fix itself before the three hours is even up.  Sorry I haven’t gotten back to you sooner.  I’ve been very busy around here with my family getting everything ready around here so I haven’t been on at all.  This will also happen if you’re without a signal at all.  So, if you’re gone for any length of time, grab your old rellic meter, (LOL) for back-up.  

Now that I’m on here, I’d like to take this time to wish each and every one of you a most Blessed and Merry Christmas.  Whether or not you choose to celebrate Christmas, this is what we celebrate in the Jacobs Household.
