[Diabetes-Talk] Lancing devices.

I don’t know if it’s okay or not, but the lancets each have a little end that you twist off to expose the new sharp end. After I’ve ejected the old lancet, I insert the new one in the lance, then twist off its end and put the end of the lance back in place. Then I jam the old lancet into the end I took off the new lancet so that it’ fits tightly and just toss it into the trash.

Sandy, I brought a Delica home from a conference and played with it a bit. I'll have to look at it again to see if I can figure out about where you can jam the lancet because I didn't figure it out initially. Can you take a stab at a further explanation? <grin>
Thanks so much, everyone.
Veronica

Hi Veronica,

I use OneTouch Delica Lancets. They are also a thinner lancet, and there is a twist-off end into which you can cram the sharp end of the old lancet. I like them very much.

Hi everyone!
Well, time to face the end of another era for me. <grin> The nice lancing device that came with my FreeStyle meter is getting old. I have been using BD ultrafine stabbers and BD is one of the many companies that have been getting out of various parts of the diabetes business.
What I liked about the BD stabbers is that they had a really nice easy cap to replace, making disposal really simple. It was also nice when I tested away from home. I'd like to know which ones all of you prefer, both for getting enough blood and for ease of handling after the fact. Thanks so much.
