Bridget is correct. Insurance companies often require a note that says we
need an accessible meter. In some cases the note needs to say we are legally
blind and list the degree of visual acuity we have to get the meter
approved. But some insurance companies, like my husband's, don't have access
to this meter and strips, and if you don't want to go the Amazon route and
buy strips, or through a local specialty pharmacy or you have trouble with
your insurance approving or getting the prodigy and strips, go to US Med.

If going through insurance, your doctor can write a script and note stating
it's necessary you use an accessible meter.

Make sure your insurance company can get the strips for the Prodigy Voice.
If you have trouble knowing which strips they are, if there is a specialty
pharmacy in your area (like here we have Baxters) where we can get items
that a CVS or a Rite Aide or a Walmart might not have, they might be able
to assist, but know that if you go through a specialty pharmacy it will cost
you more.

The Prodigy Voice is the only fully accessible meter. I don't have exact
contact, but you can purchase one for $50, I believe, at the Independence
Market. I think you also can on Amazon, but make sure it's the Prodigy Voice
and not the Prodigy Autocode.
