A continuous glucose monitor (CGM) is a device that inserts into your body, and you wear it for a few days before inserting a new one. It's external except a very small piece that stays inside the injection sight. It test glucose levels every couple of minutes, giving better, updated ideas of glucose levels throughout the day, and it can alarm when you drop too low or go too high, so you can correct. There are other brands, but the Dexcom is the only accessible version as long as you can use the app. The app is accessible. However, if only on Medicare, it will not cover a Dexcom if using the app.
