Love it. You know, it's like fifor MRIs breast cancer. Many insurance
providers still refuse to cover them.

You know, I'd like to do a flash mob thing in front of Congress in order to
make them understand that spending some money on preventative care, such as
Dexcom and whatever we need, will ultimately save a boatload of money by
keeping us out of hospitals, less likely to experience severe complications,
etc. And on top of that, I want to see the health care plan our congress
gets. I think they should have to use Medicare. But there we go, back to if
I ran the world. <grin> And the thing is, with my husband's retirement plan,
if I decide to not use this supplemental plan, I can never come back to it.
So that's not really an option. So, attention insurance companies. Keep this
up and you'll be paying for blood pressure meds for me. <grin> Now I have to
start the process of reauthorization for my rheumatoid arthritis medication.
Sheesh! Am I the only one who fights the urge to just go eat junk whenever
I'm fighting a battle over diabetes care I think I should get? Hope not. I'm
resisting, I'm resisting.

Gguys and gals your not the only ones.even being on private insurance I cant
get dexcom to work with my insurance provider.they are charging outrageous
co payment for dexcom supplies.if that was not bad enough I just got a 25%
increase on my insurance payments for next year.so I am also angry and mad
at these insurance providers.they are making us sick and then over charging
us for coverage .

Wow, that's crazy. Having been on Medicare for years, with some of those
years having a better primary provider, I can say Medicare sucks. I guess
it's better than nothing, but, seriously...

Hi everyone!
Well, I am now a very unhappy camper. Today I officially start on Medicare.
Boo hiss! I hereby declaire my supplemental insurance a giant waste of
money. If Medicare covers something, they will pay a little bit more. If
Medicare denies, they will too. You all probably know where this is going.
My next batch of Dexcom sensors will be paid completely out of pocket, which
is over $300 per month. But I'm not going backwards. According to Dexcom,
Medicare has officially approved the G6, but they just don't have a contract
yet. How stupid is that. The contract could be sorted out by the end of the
year. They will then have an upgrade program for Medicare recipients who are
using the G5. But it makes no sense for me to go through all the prior
authorizations and stuff to go backwards for a month or two or three. And I
can't imagine what takes six months to be written up in a contract. Is this
where they bundle it with an inaccessible meter? Is this where we could
potentially have another fight over not being required to use the receiver?
This is where someone with NFB or somewhere should be on the alert and
working with Dexcom and Medicare. But that's not happening either.
Now I get to go find out if everyone was telling me the truth about the
Omnipod. But hey, my supplemental plan would buy me a hearing aid. It's
amazing how private insurance companies have to offer continuity of care
when you change plans. But the government, nope!
Well, time to start buying lottery tickets I guess. <grin> Anyway, thanks
for listening. I'll keep you posted and I'm back to doing some research
again.
