Yes, if a doctor contacts your insurance company, typically, they will cover it or a portion of it. I personally don't have a lancet I prefer  over another. I usually just buy whatever is the best price at the pharmacy.

For those of you that have the prodigy meter does your insurance cover it? Can you possibly have a doctor prescribe it so your insurance covers it if they already don’t? Also, what are the best lancets you recommend that are the most comfortable. Unfortunately, the kit only come with 10 and I’m not sure which ones would be recommended. Have any of you ordered any products through their website?
