[Diabetes-Talk] Accessible alternative ways of testing blood sugar

That is nice.

Veronica, BTW, how is the Omnipod working out? Next month, I will discuss
pump options with my doc, but, as of now, as we know, no other pump will
work for blind people.

I hate to stop using a pump, especially since my sugars can drastically
shift throughout the day. I like being able to set specific basal rates for
different times of the day. Like right now, during the day, I don't have a
rate above 0.5, but, overnight, at 5 am., I'm having to run at 1.10 for a
couple of hours. It's crazy, but, with a pump, I can do this. If back using
a pen, I can't.

The Dexcom G6 needs no calibration at all so technically you don't have to
test. For me, it takes a little longer than the two-hour warm up period to
settle in on that first day so I do a couple of test on day 1 and then
nothing till I insert a new sensor ten days later. My fingers are really
appreciating the break.

Dexcom apps right to health with a three hour delay.
Emergency personnel can still access the application should they choose to.
The Dexcom phone number is: 1-877-339-2664 The website is: www.dexcom.com
