Angela, the solution is to not read everything if you're busy. When you have
a list designed so that we can help each other, people will write and that's
a good thing. I'm sorry you are feeling overwhelmed. But as lists go, if you
don't read everything, chances are really good the topic will come around
again. Sometimes a discussion will wander away from the original topic and I
sometimes just don't continue to follow it any more. 
I hope you find a solution that works for you because we would sure welcome
your contributions here as well.
I know some people get lists in digest mode, but I found that too messy for
my liking. Good luck.
