Veronica is correct on that one.i was one of those who falls in that od
ball insurance not wanting to provide dexcom to do a1c range being in range
from their point of view. i just changed providers an we will se what
happens at the beginning of the year wit the new provider and dexcom.
Its still a PPO plan but a different one as I am not eligible to qualify to
get medicare as of yet.

The answer depends on your plan, straight Medicare? Other insurance? All
co-pays and deductables vary. As for proving you've tried other meters
first? Never heard that one and it doesn't make sense. Dexcom isn't for
people who couldn't get control with meters. It's for people who want better
control. Period. I have heard of insurance companies trying to refuse to pay
for various technologies because someone's A1C was good enough. Just stupid.
You need a chat with the people at Dexcom, as Doula said. They have people
who really know Medicare and other insurance.

Hi Mary,

I'd suggest calling the company, because I don't know the answer to
that. I had been using a standard glucometer before getting my Dexcom. I
do know that currently I don't have any copays.
