I'm a type 2 user of dexcom and i also do use insulin both long term an short term as well.

Yep, that makes sense. I was thrown off by the type 2 comment, because I know type 2s using Dexcom, but yes, they do use insulin. Thanks everyone for clearing that up.

I believe that’s right, and one of the criteria is that one has to be on insulin, whether Type 1 or Type 2. I believe I read that on www.diatribe.org the other day. If you don’t already frequent that website, I highly recommend it. Lots of latest news and perspectives, written by people with diabetes.

Medicare does have a list of criteria needed to have the Dexcom covered. I do think the insulin requirement is in there.

I'm type 1, so I have to use insulin several times a day. That doesn't sound right to me though because a CGM is just a glucometer. Type 2s should be able to use it regardless if using insulin or not. Dar, do you use insulin at all right now?

Where they still won't help me out with the dex com unless I use insolin three time a day.
Are you being told the same thing?
I will share that a pump won't work for me.
