Insulin doesn't make you lose weight; wish it did, grin. Perhaps if you're eating better it's helped you drop a few.

Gary,
Usually there is an insulin to carb ratio that is determined by either your doctor or CDE that is working with you. It depends on how you react to the humalog and how much of it is needed to level out BG’s. I don’t think any one of us on the list can tell you how much of it to take it depends on your own requirements and how much carbs you might eat at a given meal. I forget, but if you are a type 2 then you’re probably producing some of your own insulin.
You might want to ask your doctor to set you up with a Cde & a nutritionist to help you work it all out.

Here's my question for humolog.i have just started using this.my endo said to just use 3 units of humolog and 6 units if I am eating a heavy meal.is this the correct approach to humolog or what's the correct approach to taking humolog before meals.
