No, insulin does not help you lose weight. In fact, it concerns me if non-diabetics are taking it, because hospitals use insulin if they need to induce a coma in extreme situations, so it's not a med to mess around with. A lot of times, before going on insulin, people experience weight loss because of high blood sugars and when they start insulin, the weight loss drops off because glucose levels are getting better; they think insulin is making them gain weight, but it's not the insulin at all, but it's the equalizing of glucose levels.

Some type 2 meds can assist with weight loss but not insulin like Novalog or Humalog.

Then why do body builders take it if they want to lose weight and put on muscle I saw this on a youtube channel and I am not sure how valid it is. But I questioned that as  well.
