Yes, after 2 kids and almost 40, I'm finding it difficult to take off the remaining baby weight. Even though I'm not considered over weight at all, I'm still about 20 pounds where I was before kids, so I would like to take some of it off if not all of it. But I am aware that I'm not actually over weight. That being said, for those of us who have had kids, it changes your body, and while I will never look the way I did when 20, grin, I would like to get in better shape again. This is what comes from having kids in your 30s, ha!

Yes, it's incredibly rude for anyone to comment on size. We are working with our 6-year-old right now not to do this. Lately, if someone is heavier, he will point it out. He's not being mean, just stating what he observes, but nonetheless, it's not appropriate. But he's 6, not an adult. If you look a certain way, regardless if one way or the other, some people feel they have the right to comment

Right now, I am over weight, but it is hard for me if not impossible to get it off. I had never had weight issues in my life until I hit my 40’s and then started gaining. I do think it is harder for women & that women also have a harder time with it due to our hormones.

With that said, no matter if you are thin or over weight I have always found it incredibly rude for people to comment. When I was in my thinner days it never ceased to amaze me that people felt they could ask me what size I was or how much I weighed because I was small. Really stupid & rude! You should never comment on anyone’s size its just not appropriate.

Eileen

I've always been underweight for my age and size even as a kid, and I've been taking insulin since I was four. Even now, after 2 kids, I'm considered right where I should be weight-wise for my height, and I'm about 20 pounds over pre-pregnancy weight, and while I'm trying to take it off, I'm actually finally right where I should be according to BMI charts. So, it's not a hard and fast rule that diabetics will experience weight gain, especially if taking insulin. People have always commented how surprised they are that I'm not over-weight because I'm diabetic, and this always seems unusual and rude to me as being diabetic doesn't automatically equate to being over-weight. So as long as you're healthy and your doctor isn't concerned, I wouldn't worry about it.

My A1C’s have been anywhere from 5.7 to 6.3 the past 2 or more years and I’ve still lost around 60 pounds. I need to gain some of that back.
But I don’t know for sure what to do without raising my BG rates.

Cordially,

When our BG levels are out of control we tend to drop weight, once we start gaining better control with the use of insulin we tend to start putting weight on. When I started using my insulin pump I was told to expect approximately a 10 Lb weight gain.
