[Diabetes-Talk] when out

Hi Bridgit,
Regular Medicare is not covering the Dexcom G6, yet.
If you have Medicare Advantage through another provider, they will cover the
cost and take liability.

The 70/30 Insulin that Dar was referring to is an insulin which is 70% quick
acting and 30% slower acting.

Warmly, Joy

Hi,
I never inject my insulin pen in a public restroom. Always at the table. I
just lean forward a little bit and inject quickly and no one notices.
The sun does not affect insulin but, Insulin pen cannot be in 80 degrees
temperature or more unless in a purse. In the summer I always keep a
chilled 8 ounce bottle of water in my purse to keep it cool.
The cash price of the Dexcom G6 sensors is $299 per month for the one month
supply and the transmitter is good for 3 months is about $275, I don't
exactly remember. You can call them at 877.449.2664 and ask for information
about the cash price with continuing reordering. Hopefully, in April the
Dexcom G6 will start to be covered by Medicare but, I am not betting the
farm on this rumor.

The Dexcom G5 is covered by Medicare now.
Warmly, Joy

Now what a funny title rite/
I don't remember the pin they want to put me on except it is the 70 30 pin.
You give your shot before a meal, I get that.
When out ladies, have you gone to the bathroom to do this?
Especially in the winter months when wearing long sleeves?
I was told by a friend the worst place to give yourself a shot is in the
bathroom.
Because you don't know how clean it is.
I also have a dog who thinks she needs to know everything while she is with
you.
Sure hope she doesn't gossep loll.
I lwear leggings in the winter, I could try to do this on the tummy with out
anyone noticing.
Can someone explain again, how much I would need to pay to get the dex com
myself.
Then I don't have to worry about insurance.
Is this still the $300 everyone spoke about?
Also what is it I would have to buy every three months, and would the price
still have to be the same.
I will be taken off three medicines when I start the new pin.
Wow don't know how insurance is going to handle that loll.
I don't know how to tell when I am low until i stand up and start to feel I
had one to many to drink.
But don't know what the drink was smile.
I asked to let me take what i have at home first so I don't get anything
mixed up.
Then transfer over.
Also does one have to worry about the sun?
I know there are medicines that one must worry about if they are in the sun
to long.
Thanks for reading.
