[Diabetes-Talk] PKvitality: We want to get to know you

Also, a little info that my husband and I just discovered. For those who use the Facebook app, for some reason, it grows and grows, taking up more and more storeage on your device; if you find your total gigs are low, delete and redownload the Facebook app, and it will go back to a lower GB. Not sure why this happens, but we recently found this out. On my husband's iPhone, it was taking up an ungodly amount of gigs, so, he was advised to redownload it, and sure enough, it went back to a lower gig. Not sure how many here use the FB app, but something to keep in mind.

My husband and I recently upgraded to iPhone 10s and went with 128 GBs each. I don't usually run out of storeage as soon as he does, but it's worth a bigger GB if you can, especially if you take a lot of pics and videos, which we do in addition to using apps.

Older gens of Apple devices might not support more recent apps, so you would want to check with Apple and/or the app to make sure. Unfortunately, it's at a point where more and more apps are not supported for older versions of Apple devices.

My husband and I have 250 gb and have had no problems. Bridgit is right. If you want to keep stuff on your watch and not upgrade right now, you can always delete the apps from your watch that you don't need and create space. I don't think you can put sugar stuff on the first generation watch, but check with apple as they will know which watch you should upgrade to.

I just mean that with each IOS upgrade, it takes up more total storeage on the device. Now that Apple is offering bigger GB on its devices, it's not as much of a problem. But everytime there's an IOS upgrade, regardless of how little apps you have or how many you add, it takes up a little more total storeage each time. But again, if you buy a device, as I do, with a larger amount of GB, it will last a lot longer.

Or you could store your data in the Health app on your phone so that it didn’t build up in the watch so much. And each little piece of data generated takes very tiny space. I had an Apple Watch of the first generation from before they were available in the Apple Store until just after Christmas, and it was still updating to new versions of the software. It didn’t do certain things that were hardware changes—for example, I couldn’t lock it and swim with it on—but I’m not doing that now, either. There are frequently newer versions of all Apple’s products, but as long as the one you have is working well for you, you can keep it. I suspect that the one that tests blood glucose will require a new version for that feature to work. But once you have it, unless you go crazy and put every app you own on the watch and use all of them, you won’t need to upgrade to another version until something better that you needs comes along.

With Apple products, you don't buy a new device with every upgrade, but after so many IOS upgrades, your device has less and less storeage, which is why every few years we need to purchase a newer device. So, sure, with IOS upgrades, you will upgrade the app for an Apple meter, but you will still eventually need to buy a new device because of how IOS upgrades and storeage work.

Wow did you come from under a snow bank?
We haven't heard from you in quite aspell.
It would be nice if the watch could tell you when you have a low as far as some of the other products out there now.
The way I was told, was that instead of buying a new watch all of the time for the upgrades, just down load the app.
I hope the gentleman I spoke with knows what he is talking about.
