Hi I'm wondering what meters are out there that you don't have to use with a
smart phone? Thanks much.

When my Diabetes educater told me about this meter, she started out by
asking me what type of phone I had and software version. So apparently it
will only work with newer stuff, at least that's my guess. I found the
accucheck app in the app store, downloaded it and tried it out. That's how I
knew it was going to work. From what I understand you can get the meter
itself for free. I'm getting my strips filled through Walgreens, we'll see
what insurance does with it. As far as calculating or recalculating numbers,
I'm not sure what you are asking about? Could you restate the question a
different way or clarify? I might be able to answer that, although I've only
had the meter for about a day.
