[Diabetes-Talk] Reading The Pump Screen.

Yeah, Seeing AI worked okay with my Animas. But with my Medtronic, it's not really worked. I cover up the buttons so it can only read the screen, but it's been very spotty for me. Not at all reliable.

I couldn't really survive using my OmniPod without the reassurance from the Seeing AI app. I couldn't get it to read the Medtronic screens when I tested them at conferences. It was so so on the Animas, but it's quite good with the Omnipod. It got much better when I upgraded to the iPhone 7 almost three years ago. Any little hint or tidbit we can get is a good thing.

I also use Seeing AI to help me when I mess up a cartridge change or don't know why an alert is going off on my Minimed 530G. It takes a few tries, since the screen on the 530 G is terrible according to my son. But, I have been able to get the pump back to working order using it!

I love the Seeing AI app and use it often throughout the day.

Hi Pump Users,

In talking about the Ira service to read the pump screen, it reminded me that within the last two or so months I have had success in using Seeing A.I. on my IPhone 10 to determine messages on my Medtronic Paradigm Revel 723. I was in a jam two or three times and tried the phone app which helped me determine a Low Revesoire alert that went off when I forgot to change out my infusion set. The other was if I remember a low battery message or else something I had done wrong during a pisten reset. Of course the phone app reads the buttons on the front face of the pump, but with a little adjusting of position I got it to read text from the screen. It gave me enough information to figure out where I was and get myself & the pump back in working order. .

Just thought you’d be interested in knowing this if you haven’t tried it in some time. And, I suppose you could test it if you press the okay button to just pull up the menu. If the phone starts reading the menu options you will know its reading the screen.

HTH.

Eileen
