Veronica,

What? You don't want strangers seeing you in the buff? LOL!

No way could I use Aira to help with my pump. First of all, when I'm changing my pod, ummm, I'm undressed. So that's a non-starter. I don't know if there's any liability regarding medical devices in their contract or not. The other problem, if your pumps are like mine, would be that when I'm stuck and realize I need to look at something, I wonder if the screen would time out by the time I got hold of an agent. I know mine times out rather quickly. But hey, if it can work in some circumstances, go for it!

I have used AIRA to read the screen to me. I use AIRA for my small business. I wonder if AIRA could offer free time and partner with the pump company to "for reasonable accomodation

It would be worth while looking into this. I am going to send a note into AIRA and ask.

I have tried Seeing AI on my Medtronic pump with little luck. Once in a blue moon, it will read a sliver of info on my pump screen, but it's not been helpful at all. Glad it works for you.

Hi Pump Users,

In talking about the Ira service to read the pump screen, it reminded me that within the last two or so months I have had success in using Seeing A.I. on my IPhone 10 to determine messages on my Medtronic Paradigm Revel 723. I was in a jam two or three times and tried the phone app which helped me determine a Low Revesoire alert that went off when I forgot to change out my infusion set. The other was if I remember a low battery message or else something I had done wrong during a pisten reset. Of course the phone app reads the buttons on the front face of the pump, but with a little adjusting of position I got it to read text from the screen. It gave me enough information to figure out where I was and get myself & the pump back in working order. .

Just thought you’d be interested in knowing this if you haven’t tried it in some time. And, I suppose you could test it if you press the okay button to just pull up the menu. If the phone starts reading the menu options you will know its reading the screen.

HTH.

Eileen
