[Diabetes-Talk] snacking

Terry,

regarding snacks, you can have a cup of Greek yogurt that is a less-sugar & low-fat option. I don’t know if you would be able to manage some crackers with either a soft cheese or some peanutbutter. Or there are both low/no sugar added jello or pudding cups that can work, along with no sugar added apple sauce cups, fruit cups that are in light syrup or no sugar added varieties. A glass of some low-fat skim milk can be good too. I don’t think the pretzels are especially bad, but you need to keep track of how many you eat and be careful. If you like humis or guackamoli they can be good on a few crackers. I have to be careful with humis since the beans are a carb all be it a good type of carb. If you like turkey breast, you could have some of that on a few crackers or a light/thin slice of whole wheat bread.

Hope this helps.

Eileen

Subject: [Diabetes-Talk] snacking

Hello once more everyone,

As you all know, I am in the process of eating better. It's going rather
slow. But I know to expect this. I didn't do too well with this at the
beginning of the week. But for the last 2 days it has gone much better.
I have already started seeing changes in my blood sugar. This makes me
very happy.

So I was wondering, what are some snacks you all enjoy?

Nothing we have here really is much good. It is a lot of junk food.
Although, we do have some pretzels. But I don't know how good those are,
to eat.

I am looking for snacks that don't contain a lot of nuts, or that aren't
seeds and nuts in general, as I do not have teeth. I can eat many things
without teeth. But nuts and seeds are rather difficult. So those are out.

What do you all think? I would love to hear some snack options you all
might enjoy.

Also, I have noticed in the last few days, sense I have started eating
smaller portions, that I get hungry faster.

How can I possibly help with this, without undoing the work I am really
putting in to this?

Thank you so much for all the help and support. I honestly do not know
what I would do without you all. You have been a huge help, and support.

Terri
