actual number you are attempting to set will take.

Whether or not the sensor needs calibration depends on the sensor's
behavior. It has nothing to do with your level of control. You do want to
find a stabile time to compare them, namely, not immediately after you've
eaten or while you're falling quickly. 
Also, calibration has nothing to do with setting targets. You set those in
the app and this determines when you hear alarms for highs and lows. The
calibration has to do with the coating on the sensor that was applied in the
factory. If it's not matching what seems real to you, you can then nudge it.
But even when you do, if your Dexcom says 100 and your meter says 160, when
you enter 160 in the edit box, the Dexcom will change to 130, right in the
middle. I never quite understood that one. If Dexcom detects a major
screw-up, then it will make you do three sticks, like the G5 sometimes does.

And I cannot imagine why anyone would make their own graph. The Dexcom
graphs your numbers and then through the Clarity app, you get a code, which
you give to the doctor. The doc can then download the results. I have no
intention of checking my reading every five minutes, writing them down and
then making a graph? Really? 
The G6 is easy to insert, easy to use. No muss, no fuss. Just the way I like
it.
